Beginning October 1 2015, all psychologists (and other qualified health professionals) MUST use the new ICD-10 code that goes into effect on that date.  These codes will be used by Medicare, Medicaid and ALL private health insurance carriers.

The focus of this two-hour presentation will be the new ICD-10 codes.

Dr. Puente served as APA’s representative to the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology panel from 1993 to 2008 at which time he was elected as a voting member of the Editorial Panel of the CPT – the first psychologist and the third non-physician to serve in this capacity.  His work over a decade with the AMA and HCFA on the CPT codes used in billing for healthcare services and the psychology testing codes has helped assure the future of the practice of psychologist.  He is the psychologist primarily responsible for development of the testing codes and the health and behavior codes.  He consults with APA and provides testimony on various reimbursement issues on Capitol Hill.  He also served on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee.  Dr. Puente is a past president of both the North Carolina Psychological Association and the North Carolina Psychological Foundation.

Dr. Puente is a Professor of Psychology at UNC-Wilmington and also maintains a private practice in neuropsychology.

Registration Deadline – Tuesday, October 13 or when we reach 150 registrations, whichever comes first.
